Sent forward for trial on rape charge
A Donegal man has been sent forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court on alleged offences of sexual assault and rape.
The offences were alleged to have taken place in Letterkenny last October.
The accused, who is in his late thirties and who cannot be named for legal reasons, was served with a book of evidence prior to last Monday's sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
Defence solicitor Patsy Gallagher was granted legal aid with one junior and one senior counsel for the trial.
Judge Seamus Hughes gave the accused an alibi warning before sending him forward for trial.
