Up to €9,000 of computer equipment was stolen from a business in Ramelton after a weekend raid by burgalrs.

KC computers was raided in the early hours of Sunday morning when thieves when cut through a fence at the rear of the premises and gained entry by removing panels from the building.

Owner Shane Harrison discovered the break-in when he arrived at his business on Sunday morning. Lap top computers and external hard drives were among the items stolen and the shop was also ransacked.

Mr. Harrison said the premises had been obviously been “cased “ by the thieves as they knew how to get in and seemed to how where the most valuable stock was located.

He has been running the business for over ten years and has been located in Ramelton for over five years.

The business, which does computer sales and repairs, was closed yesterday as the damage caused by the raid was cleared up.

“They knew what they were doing , it was probably well planned. The place was ransacked and there was a lot of damage done,” he said.

“It is a kick in the teeth. “You just have to get on with it.

“I work seven days a week and am struggling to make ends meet. It’s tough, it’s another extra burden to carry.”
