Polish man arrested three times in one day
Garda in Letterkenny were called to the scene of an ongoing disturbance last Sunday where a Polish man had to be arrested on three separate occasions.
Monday's sitting of Letterkenny District Court heard how gardai were called three times to deal with incidents involving Lukasz Mazgaj, who has addresses at 55 Sylvan Park and Burnside Apartments in Letterkenny, when they were called to Knocknamona Crescent last Sunday.
Garda Kevin Hynes said he arrested the accused on three occasions on the day during a "domestic incident".
He said Mazgaj was intoxicated and acting in a threatening manner towards his partner and children.
He had previous convictions but was welcomed back into the family home when he was not drinking.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his client has a "severe addiction to alcohol" and was "civil when sober".
He added that had been living rough for a time.
He said he was not in receipt of social welfare and got the drink from his "compatriots".
Later, Garda Thomas Regan gave evidence of later incidents on the same day.
Judge Seamus Hughes described the accused as a "pure nuisance" and remanded him in custody to re-appear in court next Monday.
