A case of defamation of character brought by a prominent Donegal County Councillor was adjourned at today’s (Wednesday) sitting of Donegal Circuit Court.

Cllr. Sean McEniff of Church Road, Bundoran brought a case of defamation of character against Ms. Patricia McCafferty of Main Street, Bundoran who alleged that he “was a corrupt county councillor” in a letter she wrote, dated January 5, 2009.

Ms. McCafferty, who was defending herself, applied to the court for an adjournment saying that she was not prepared for the case and had only learned that the case was for hearing less than two weeks ago.

The case has been adjourned to the July sitting of the Circuit Court.
