Ramelton man Stanley Grier walked away a €100,000 winner from the national lottery’s “Winning Streak” show last Saturday but came so close to scooping a half million jackpot.
Stanley from Aughnish came within a whisker of claiming to top prize when he was selected to spin the wheel on the show.
By the time he won through to spin the wheel he had already scooped €25,700 in cash as well as a €5,000 holiday to Turkey.
Stanley claimed he had a feeling he would “be the last man standing” on the show as he stepped up to the wheel.
His spin claimed him another €75,000, narrowly missing out on the half million euro top prize by a single click.
Stanley was joined at the show by a large crowd of friends and family who cheers him along in his success.
His appearance comes amid a ‘lotto luck’ for Donegal contestants recently on the big money show.
The week before Inishowen woman Angela Devlin from Buncrana claimed €55,000 and a Kenyan safari holiday when she also got to spin the wheel.
The amazing run of luck continues after Inch Island woman Kathleen Robb, had her name drawn out to appear on the show next week.
Kathleen will be hoping to join lucky pair Stanley and Angela in a chance to ‘spin to win’.
