A special restaurant licence has been granted to the owners of the Foxes Lair Pub, Church Road, Bundoran.
Donegal Circuit Court heard on Tuesday that Mary and Bernadette Faulkner had obtained a restaurant licence for the premises in 2002. However, Mr Faulkner left to trade at a larger premises in 2008. However, barrister Declan McHugh said, his client “wasn’t fortuitous” and returned to the Foxes lair in April 2010. In the meantime, the restaurant licence had lapsed. Drawings of the downstairs area to be covered by the restaurant licence were furnished to the court.
Judge John O’Hagan asked to see a menu and, as he handed one over, Mr McHugh said: “famous for steaks and seafood and a decadent dessert trolley”. Judge O’Hagan said: “It’s great to see fresh fish on the menu, especially with Killybegs just up the road.” He granted the licence, subject to the Faulkner’s presenting documentation proving ownership of the premises.
