Donegal Youth Council in conjunction with youth resource website, Spunout.ie, is giving ten young people the chance to meet The Dalai Lama when he comes to Ireland in April.
His visit, which will take place between April 13th and 14th, and is his third to Ireland, and follows a personal invitation from Derry man Richard Moore who the Dalai Lama describes as his personal hero.
During his visit the Dalai Lama will deliver a talk entitled ‘A call for Universal responsibility’ at a major social forum called Possibilities. The event on April 13th is organised by the non-profit organisations Spunout.ie and Children In Crossfire, will also feature speakers such as former president Mary Robinson and other special guests yet to be announced.
Tickets are limited for the already sold out event, and Donegal Youth Council want to give ten lucky young people the chance to attend this once in a life time event.
All you have to do is answer two simple questions: “Why I deserve to attend this event.”, and ‘The person who inspires me most is…”
Marie Duffy from Donegal Youth Council explained why the youth council have decided to give away the tickets.
“Donegal Youth Council are delighted to be able to give ten lucky young people the chance to attend the fantastic event that is Possibilities in April. Tickets are already sold out for the event and we are lucky to have ten as they are like gold dust. We feel that it is important for young people to come into contact with good role models, and the opportunity to hear the Dalai Lama speak is a once in a life time opportunity.”
