Sinn Fein search to fill Mac Lochlainn council posts

Sinn Fein will shortly begin the search for two candidates to be co-opted on to both Donegal County Council and Buncrana Town Council following the successful election of outgoing Councillor Padraig Mac Lochlainn to the Dáil.

Deputy Mac Lochlainn served on the local authority since 2004 and held position on both councils.

As he prepares to take his seat in the Dáil next week he says the local party cummans will now begin the task of drawing up lists of suitable candidates looking to fill the posts.

“Sinn Fein in Donegal has such a fantastic team, Every cummnan, and I think it is six branches in Inishowen, and they are all quite strong in their own right and they have the right to nominate somebody,” he explains.
