New Year's Day is going to be cold bright and breezy with occasional showers. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees. There is a risk of isolated sleet and snow showers and frost in places. Winds will be gusty at times.
Tonight should be dry in most areas. Lowest temperatures will be 2 to minus 2 degrees with a risk of icy stretches.
Winds may decrease overnight.
