Donegal death notices for Monday evening, October 24th

Donal McEleney, Woodlands, Letterkenny, County Donegal

The death has occurred of Donal McEleney, Woodlands, Letterkenny. His remains are reposing at his late residence. Requiem Mass on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at 11am at the Church of the Irish Martyrs followed by burial in Conwall Cemetery.

House private on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only, donations in lieu of The Oncology Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital and The Donegal Hospice C/O any family member.

Rita Friel, Cleary House, Letterkenny, Donegal

The death has occurred of Rita Friel, of Cleary House, Letterkenny and Gortnacor, Portsalon, Fanad. Viewing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest today, Monday October 24th, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, followed by removal to St. Columba’s Church, Massmount to repose overnight. Funeral Mass on Tuesday October 25th at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Patients Comfort Fund Cleary House.

Jimmy Doherty, Woodlands, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Jimmy Doherty, Woodlands Letterkenny. Mr. Doherty passed away last Saturday in Beaumont Hospital after an accident at his home. 

Remains reposing at his late residence.  Requiem Mass at 12 o'clock in St. Eunan's Cathedral, Letterkenny followed by burial in Conwal cemetery.  

Monica O'Brien (née Shiels) of Clachán Mór, Windy Hall., Letterkenny, Donegal and Gowna, Cavan

Monica O'Brien has peacefully passed away, after a short illness at Letterkenny University Hospital, formerly of Gowna, County Cavan, beloved wife of the late John, sadly missed by her loving daughters Mary and Eileen, sons John and Paul, son-in-law Jim Leonard, daughters in-law Connie and Kathy, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Remains reposing at her daughter Mary’s home, Clachán Mór, Windy Hall, Letterkenny. Removal from there tomorrow, Tuesday 25th at 12 noon going to her late home at Thomond, Strandhill Rd., Sligo to repose. Removal on Wednesday evening, October 26th, arriving 7pm at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11.30am with burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Scarden, Strandhill Rd., Sligo. Family flowers only please.

Patrick Quinn, Knockletragh, Cloghan, Donegal

The death has occured of Patrick Quinn in County Cork. His Remains will arrive at his home in Knockletragh at 7 o'clock today, to repose overnight.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers, sisters, and large family circle. May he Rest in Peace.

Requiem Mass at 11 o'clock on Tuesday in St. Colmcille's Chapel, Fintown, with burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

 

Jim O'Connor, Creggan, Ballybofey, Donegal and Newbridge, Kildare

The death has occurred at St. James' Hospital, Dublin. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Nancy, daughter Ursula, son Anthony, daughter in law, son in law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he Rest in Peace.

His Remains will repose at his home from 8 o'clock today Monday. Requiem Mass in The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Glenfin, on Wednesday at 2.30 pm with burial in Kilteevogue Cemetery.

 

Thomas Smyth, Annaugh, Ballyliffin, Donegal and Belfast


Thomas (Tommy) Smyth, Died peacefully at Foyle Hospice Derry, surrounded by his loving family October 23, 2016. Beloved husband of Paula, much loved father of Kieran and Conor, father-in-law of Tara and Samantha, devoted grandfather of Sean, Liam, Patrick, Finn and Darcy.  Thomas' remains will leave Healy Brothers Chapel of Repose 56 Andersonstown Road Belfast on Thursday27th Oct at 9.30am for 10am Requiem Mass in St Agnes Church then afterwards to Roselawn Crematorium for service at 12noon. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, sons, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren and family circle. Family flowers only please. Patrick (Paddy) Quinn,  Tonafora, Dunmanway, Cork  and Glenties

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Quinn at his home, Tonafora and formerly of Fintown, Glenties. Reposing at O'Neill's Funeral Home, Dunmanway. 

Funeral Mass and burial on Tuesday in Glenties.

 

James (Jim) Hardy, Drim, Cloghan, Ballybofey

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital, of James (Jim) Hardy, Drim, Cloghan and formerly of Creggan, Ballybofey.

Remains reposing at his home in Drim.

Funeral leaving his home on Tuesday at 1.15 pm for Service in St.John's Parish Church, Kilteevogue, at 2pm, followed by interment in Stranorlar Parish Churchyard. Donations in lieu of flowers, please, if so desired, to Cancer Research, c/o any family member. Family time from 11 pm to 11 am.

 

Christina (Chrissie) McMonagle, Aughnakeeragh, Raphoe

The death has taken place of Christina (Chrissie) McMonagle, Aughnakeeragh, Raphoe

Chrissie's remains are reposing at her son PJ's residence at Aughnakeeragh, Raphoe.

Funeral from there on Tuesday at 10.30am to St Eunan's Church, Raphoe, for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please, donations in lieu, if desired, to The Parkinson's Society, Donegal Branch. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.
