Donegal Mountain Rescue Team seeking new recruits

The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team is on the lookout for new recruits.
DMRT, the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team, is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as a voluntary emergency response team providing search and rescue in extreme terrain and mountain conditions throughout the entire county, and along Donegal’s many coastal walks.
The team’s goal is to locate, stabilise and extract individuals in distress.
Recruitment to the emergency response team is open to people over 18 years of age living within one hour of the county’s mountainous areas.
It takes about one to two years to progress from being a probationary member to qualifying as a full operational member. As DMRT is a volunteer organisation, prospective members should be aware that DMRT requires commitment for fundraising and training as well as emergency responses.
Priority will be given to those with existing qualifications in Mountain Skills, Remote Emergency Care Skills as well as other applicable and relevant qualifications.
For an application pack please send an e-mail to secretary@donegalmrt.ie
For more information, visit the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team Facebook page, at www.facebook.com/DonegalMRT
The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday the 7th November, 2016.
DMRT is also interested in hearing from members of the public who may be interested in assisting them with the various other duties involved in running a voluntary mountain emergency response team, including organising fundraising days and events, general administration, vehicle maintenance, etc.
