A former Mary from Dungloe and a world champion Irish Dancer ended the old year as a McKelvey and celebrated the first day of 2016 as Mrs. Parsons.
Lisa McKelvey, the well known journalist and broadcaster, celebrated her wedding to Dublin native Trevor Parsons on the last day of 2015 at St. Crona’s Church in Dungloe at a ceremony officiated by her good friend Fr. John Joe Duffy and Fr. Aodhan Cannon, PP Dungloe. Local girls from nearby Lettermacaward Sara Loughlin and her sister provided the music throughout the ceremony.
Lisa was the first ever local “Mary” to be crowned the overall winner in 2004 and went on to develop a successful broadcasting career with both Highland Radio and RTÉ. Trevor has worked in the IT sector, was Co-founder of Logentries and has over 10 years' experience in enterprise software,.
The happy couple celebrated their wedding reception at the luxurious Harvey’s Point Hotel outside Donegal Town surrounded by up on 250 family and friends.
Lisa and Trevor are now enjoying the warm sands and blue seas of Barbados on their honeymoon.
