A survivor of one of Donegal’s worst house fire tragedies is calling for the survivors of the Carrickmines fire to be given somewhere to live immediately.

A survivor of one of Donegal’s worst house fire tragedies is calling for the survivors of the Carrickmines fire to be given somewhere to live immediately.

Philip O’Donnell lost four of his siblings in a blaze at their family home in Ard O’Donnell, Letterkenny, in April 1986. The fire also claimed the life of the family’s babysitter.

“Life is standing still for them (survivors),” Philip told the Donegal Democrat.

The project manager for the Donegal Traveller’s Project, Siobhan McLaughlin welcomed Philip’s appeal.
