Recently the Ballyshannon conference of St Vincent de Paul celebrated the 25th anniversary of the opening of their thrift shop “Vincents” on Eat Port, Ballyshannon.

On the day members, past members and so many great friends and customers of the shop called in to offer best wishes and encouragement.

The occasion was marked by a cup of tea and a very special cake which was suitably emblazoned with the Society’s logo.

Jo McConville, President of the conference commented: “Thanks to the marvellous generosity of the people of the area, the volunteers and those who donate items to our shop, we feel we have been able to make life a little easier for many people over the years.

“I wish to pay tribute to all those who have given of their time and indeed items that we have been able to sell on and turn into much needed cash for those who are less well off in this area.”

Jo appealed for more people to come forward and volunteer for the shop. “We have a core group of volunteers who put in many the long hour, it would be great to see some new faces and extra help.”
