Last week will be etched in the memory of Harvey’s Point in Donegal for many years to com.
Not only did their personable host, Deirdre McGlone win the coveted award of Donegal Person of the Year but the hotel has been named the best in Ireland by the prestigious travel website Trip Advisor.
Deirdre said: “This has just been an unbelivable week for Harvey’s Point. To be named as Donegal Person of the Year is just something that dreams are made of; to follow in the footsteps of Moya Doherty who with Riverdance brought world recognoition to Ireland, Brian Friel with his literary works to name but a few of the recipients – it is just incredible.
“Now this afternoon we receive the news that the hotel has just been voted best in Ireland by the influential Trip Advisor for the fourth consecutive year. From a marketing perspective this is not only good news for us but for Donegal as a tourist destination. It is based on the feedback and opinions of millions of travellers worldwide – to many it is their bible.
“We are obviously over the moon. This is a tribute to our wonderful team – every member of the staff from the kitchen porter to the manager all play a part in this hotel.”
