Ards Friary, Creeslough to host an aerial circus, an event all the family can enjoy, this Sunday, June 22 at 6.30pm. Aerial Circus talent from across the globe will create an extremely special outdoor performance in Ard’s Friary for all the family. As you stroll around the stunning grounds of the Friary, you’ll find performers hanging from trees and bounding off rocks. This performance is a work in progress, aiming towards a full production in 2015. This event is free but ticketed.
Fiesta cast finalised
Fiesta, the main Earagail Arts Festival show at An Grianan Theatre, is a celebration of the dancers, the chancers and the lovers who graced the Fiesta Ballroom, Letterkenny. The famous dancehall venue formed a hugely important part of the social history of Donegal and the wider North West region. While the ballroom itself has been closed for many years, the building itself still exists and trades as Cable and Accessories on the Port Rd.In the lead roles are Sorcha Shanahan, Orla McGranaghan, Joseph Gallagher and Jason Daly. Playing other roles in the ensemble are Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhrighde, Fionn Robinson, John Ruddy, Valerie Bryce, Sinead Gallagher and Margaret Hannon. In addition we will have a supporting cast of 16 people who have been attending weekly workshops with director Sean Donegan and choreographer Aoife Toner since April. Phil Coulter to play An Grianan
Well known Derry pianist, Phil Coulter will perform at An Grianan Theatre in Letterkenny on Thursday, October 6.
Phil Coulter is well known for many tunes, with the most famous being ‘puppet on a string’ and ‘congratulations’, originally performed by sandy shaw and cliff richard respectively.
‘The Town I Loved So Well’ is another song which made him a household name.
Summer Fun at An Grianan Theatre
An Grianan Theatre will be running two summer schools this year.
The Ballet Ireland Summer School will be held during the last week of July and the pbm Performing Arts Summer School will be running from Mon 11 to Sat 16 August.

European Day of Music
On June 21 at lunchtime in the Balor Arts Centre, Fête de la Musique, Donegal Music Education Partnership and Donegal Chamber Music Society celebrate the European Day of Music with a lunchtime concert as part of the 5th Cello Meeting Ireland. The performance will feature participants of the Cello Master Classes in solo and cello ensemble playing, plus a variety of chamber music ensembles. The Donegal Junior String Orchestra will also be playing as part of the event. The programme will include music by Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and many more. This concert will have a 45 minute duration – a perfect lunchtime treat. Teas, coffees and refreshments will be available at the venue. You’re more than welcome to bring your own lunch. LYIT Graduate Exhibition
The Regional Cultural Centre is hosting the 2014 Graduate Exhibition by students from the Department of Design and Creative Media at LYIT. The exhibition continues to June 20. The students have produced innovative and exciting work in the realms of Digital Media, Product Design, Motion Graphics and Visual Communication and Graphic Design. Admission is free.
