The Henry Girls are playing this Wednesday night, September 11 at the Highland Hotel as part of the Glenties Harvest Fair.
Donegal music lovers will be very familiar with The Henry Girls. The in-demand Inishowen sisters are one of the most popular live acts in these parts and of late have been making a name for themselves abroad.
Their music is a mix of bluegrass, traditional, folk and whatever you’re having yourself marked out by some beautiful three part vocal harmonies.
The girls will be joined on stage by guitar player Ted Ponsonby (although referring to Ted as a mere guitar player doesn’t come close to doing justice to his considerable talents) and, adding a little local flavour to the mix, will be Glenties native Denise Boyle. Adding some soul and blues to the night will be much loved Ardara singer-songwriter and cousin of The Henry Girls, Tanya McCole.
This is going to be a fantastic night at The Highlands Hotel which is always a great spot for a session.
Doors open at 8pm and the concert itself starts at 8.30. Tickets are only a tenner which is a bargain. For more information contact The Highlands Hotel on 074 955 1111.
