A real treat is in store this weekend when Cumann Drámaíocht Gleanncholmcille present The Maiden Aunt.

A real treat is in store this weekend when Cumann Drámaíocht Gleanncholmcille present The Maiden Aunt.

The three act comedy by Jimmy Keary will be staged by Cumann Drámaíocht Gleanncholmcille at Halla Mhuire this Friday at 8.30pm, Saturday at 9pm and Sunday at 8.30pm.

This hilarious play tells the story of a very contrary aunt, played by by Maire Cannon, who comes to stay with her niece, played by Josephine Byrne and her husband, played by Tommy Butler.

Their lazy son, played by Paul Hardy, is no help to the situation.

The one consolation for everyone is that she has loads of money, which they hope to get, but even that goes horribly wrong.

The rest of the cast comprises of a usless farm labourer played by Connie O’Gara, a friend of the family played by Brian Gillespie, a neighbour played by Stacy Sterns and a solicitor played by Lisa Ockenden.
