It’s one of Donegal’s premiere night spots and on Saturday night last, the Limelight in Glenties celebrated the official opening of it’s newly refurbished night club.
The relaunch marked a new chapter for the Limelight which boasts a much changed venue with two new dance studios complimenting the new popular party room. And with new sound systems and improved lighting, it’s a night club that’s well worth checking out.
Of course, many of you will have already sampled the new-look Limelight which opened its doors after the refurbishment work at the end of November - just in time for the Christmas festivities.
On Saturday night last, the management offered a thank you to its patrons by hosting a champagne reception ahead of a night of celebration. A packed house enjoying a brilliant night of entertainment with two live bands delighting the big crowd - The Regulators and the DTs.
“We had a great night on Saturday and it was great to see such a good crowd in for the relaunch,” a spokesperson for the Limelight said. “So far the reaction to the changes has been very positive - the work has really transformed the venue.”
The appearance of two live bands at the weekend may well mark the start of a regular slot for live bands on Saturday nights.
“It’s something that we are definitely keen to keep going on a regular basis.”
In the meantime, the Limelight will continue to host its monthly teenage discos as well as the Saturday night discos which continue to attract night-clubbers from far and wide.
Of course with the party room now in place, the Limelight is now the ideal venue for birthdays, functions and parties.
Why not check it out.
