A fantastic Music Extravaganza will be held in memory of Fonsie Bogle this Friday, August 28 in Whoriskey’s Traveller’s Rest, Cashelard,.
The late musician’s daughter Farrah, a hugely popular singer in her own right, is organising the event .
She’ll be joined on stage in the marquee by a number of singers and musicians who shared the stage with Fonsie over the years, including Alan Chapman, Frankie McKiernan, Cormac McCready , Bill Greaves , John McIntyre, Kevin Loughlin, Tom Flanagan.
Any musician who would like to join in on the night is more than welcome to bring their instruments for a great night of music and song.
In addition to fantastic entertainment, there will also be food, with a roasted Pig on the Spit, so bring along your appetite.
Admission is free but all donations, gratefully accepted, will go to the wonderful work of the Donegal Cancer Bus.
A charity auction will take place on the night to help raise funds for the charity.
Items going under the hammer include: a signed Everton jersey from Republic of Ireland and Everton football star Seamus Coleman; two box tickets for a Celtic match in Parkhead sponsered by Cllr. Sean McEniff; an acrobatic flight with Andrew Fenton; a fantastic original portrait on canvas sponsored by Gary Matthews Art; and a Donegal jersey signed by the Donegal team of 2015, sponsored by Mick McGrath at the Bridgend Bar Ballyshannon.
There’s also a Mega Prize Draw with a grand prize of three nights B & B and two evening meals in Lisdoonvarna or Tralee sponsored by the White Hotel group.You’ll also be in with a chance to win on of several more top prizes ranging in value from €100 to €600, including hampers and vouchers for beauty treatments, meals, fuel and another other treats.

The Fonsie Bogle Memorial Night, which starts at 9.30pm, kicks off a weekend of craic in Cashelard in conjunction with the Breesy Centre.
There will be live music in the open air marquee Friday to Sunday, featuring Farrah Bogle and Friends, Vida Loca, Vincie and Annie, The Humble Earthworms, The Rockhill Ramblers and Brian Sullivan.
Bringing everyone along on Sunday, for the Family Fun Day which takes place all day and includes a 5k Run/Walk, barbeque, magician, face painting, bouncy castle and more.
