Donegal features strongly in Irish restaurant awards

Five Donegal restaurants have been nominated for honours in next Mondays All-Ireland Restaurant Awards.

Five Donegal restaurants have been nominated for honours in next Mondays All-Ireland Restaurant Awards.

Each of the restaurants have already celebrated their success at the Ulster Regional Irish Restaurant Awards, and will now go on to represent their county for the national titles at the All-Ireland Irish Restaurant Awards 2014 in association with the Sunday Independent LIFE Magazine.

Nominated across nine winning categories, restaurants from Donegal will face competition in a pool of 32 county award winners and a shortlist of Dublin restaurants in each category.

The best restaurant section features The Mill Restaurant in Dunfanaghy.

Remy Dupuy of Castle Murray Restaurant in St John’s Point is nominated in the best chef category.

Castle Murray also is nominated in the Best Hotel Restaurant section.

Donegal Towns La Bella Donna restaurant is nominated in the best casual dining section.

The Lakeside Restaurant at Harvey’s Point Hotel is in the best wine experience and also the best customer service category.

The Olde Castle Bar and Red Hugh Restaurant in Donegal Town are nominated in the best Kids menu section.

The All-Ireland Irish Restaurant Awards 2014 will take place on Monday, 9th June in The Double Tree by Hilton, in Dublin,
