This weekend sees the launch of the latest edition of the “Creeslough View” magazine.
This year will be the 14th edition of the popular magazine.
The official launch will take place on Saturday night (29th) at 8pm in the Creeslough Day Centre.
This years book is packed with a host of great features.
Each year the ‘View’ aims to capture and document life in the locality as a historical record for the future but they also seek out nostalgic or historically significant stories that reflect the areas past.
This year the look back at the lives of a number of local characters including Seamus Harkin and the “Carnamaddy Poet” Charlie McConnell.
There is also coverage of a number of noted centenarians birthdays in the community.
It also covers the amazing achievements of the St Michaels GAA clubs under-16s who had an amazing year winning the county title and making it to the Ulster semi-finals. There is a special history of the Fishermen of Creeslough. The official opening of the new Ballymore Parish Centre took place in the year as did the commemoration of the Killahoey landings in Dunfanaghy.
A successful sheep dog trails event also raise a fine sum for Donegal Down Syndrome Association.
