The Henry Girls, hot on the heels of a successful tour of Ireland promoting their new album, are off to the USA next week.
Louder than Words, the latest album from Inishowen sister’s Lorna, Karen and Joleen McLaughlin, has already yielded one hit radio single in ‘Maybe’ and they follow it up in March with the release of ‘The Weather’.
The trio have struck a chord with listeners through their sumptuous three-part harmonies, whilst showcasing their multi-instrumental talents on an album that has been receiving fantastic reviews throughout the country.
Their US tour will see them expand an already growing audience there, before returning for more Irish and European dates this summer.
Their itinerary takes in the following venues:
March 7 - Cafe Paradiso, Fairfield, IA
March 8 - Celtic Music Association, Des Moines, IA
March 9 - Legion Arts Centre, Cedar Rapids, IA
March 10 - Heartland Gallery, Champagne, Urbana, IL
March 13 - House of Love, Brooklyn, NY
March 14 - Parlor Room, Northampton, MA
March 15 - Phantom Music, Warren, VT
March 16 - Club Passim, Cambridge, MA
In the meantime, they have left us with another golden slice of roots music with their new single ‘The Weather’. The sisters’ tuneful positivity shines through on this tender track, and shows a keen pop sense added to an already broad musical palette.
