Sarah Kennedy from Portnoo, who was in the final three of last year’s Britain and Ireland Next Top Model, is thoroughly enjoying her new life in London.
In an interview with the Irish Independent this week, Sarah spoke about her big move over to London to focus on her modelling career after being runner-up on Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model earlier this year.
Last September she’d expressed concerns about the possible impact of the move on her relationship with boyfriend Michael.
The couple have since split up, but Sarah remains upbeat.
She said: “I don’t want to talk about what happened with my relationship, but now I’m free to go to London and focus on my career.”
Sarah admits that it was a big decision to move across the water on her own. “London is very big and scary and I do miss home, but it is also very exciting and something that I never would have done if I didn’t go on the show,” she explained.
The Donegal beauty was a favourite with the judges for her hard work and fashionable look. Sarah is the highest Irish finisher on the show which has influenced many top models from Ireland to chance their arm in the business.
She’s still finding her feet in London.
“I haven’t signed with anyone yet, but I knew that it would take time and I wanted to find what was right for me.
“I said coming over here that I would pour everything I have into my modelling, so If I have to get a job to cover me then I will, but at the moment I’m just sticking with the modelling.”
Sarah has also been interviewed in Irish Country Living magazine, which appears on news stands this week.
Sky Living announced this week that Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model will not be returning to our screens for another season this year.
