This year’s hugely successful Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival is set to close on the highest of notes this weekend, with music, drama, visual arts and, of course, the spectacular carnival in Ballyshannon on Saturday night.

This year’s hugely successful Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival is set to close on the highest of notes this weekend, with music, drama, visual arts and, of course, the spectacular carnival in Ballyshannon on Saturday night.

Tonight sees a phenomenal trad night at McIntyre’s, Dunkineely, with Niamh Dunne, Sean Óg Graham and Donagh Hennessy. Trad moves to Glenties then, with the Fiddlers Gathering all weekend. Other music gigs include the Blue Stack Records Night on Friday at in the Kicking Donkey, Bundoran and Cagney, Tourish & Tsumbu in the Heritage Centre, Ardara on Sunday. Balor Rep’s production of The Country Boy is on tour, while The Merry Widow, a perennial favourite of opera fans, is at The Balor on Saturday night. Full programme at www.donegalcoco.ie.
