So begins Ghosties and Ghoulies and Long-Legged Beasties and Things that Go Bump in the Night a unique storytelling event in which one actor, portraying sixteen different characters, brings to life five tantalizing tales from the world beyond spanning both time and place from ancient Greece, to rural Ireland and Victorian England, to San Francisco in the early 1900’s.

The one-man play, written and performed by the California based actor, Mark Lyon, and appropriate for both adults and children ages six and over, will be presented at Glenveagh Castle on 18, May 2013 at 8:00 pm.

Actor, storyteller, playwright, Mark Lyon, who was called “a master storyteller” by the Times Colonist of Victoria, Canada, has, for years, been enchanting audiences from Orlando, Florida to Victoria, British Columbia and across the Atlantic in Ireland with his original one-man plays, will also be performing Ghosties ... at this year’s Listowel Writers Week Children’s Festival as well as at other venues in Ireland.

A member of the Screen Actors Guild with a master’s degree in theatre, Lyon studied at length in a master class with the late Lynn Redgrave, is the author of the book, San Francisco Ghosts, and has been featured on numerous television and radio programs.

“I am absolutely delighted to be able to return to Glenveagh Castle, ” said Lyon who had performed a one-man musical play at Glenveagh back in 2005 and has longed to return ever since.
