Miss Nóra McGee [Nóra Joe Bhilly], Derrybeg flew out from Dublin Airport on Wednesday of this week to spend a month working with the poor, sick and needy of Kenya. Although Nóra has been for many years involved and working with children in institutions in Romania, this is her first visit to Kenya.

For the past few weeks she had appealed for donations through an appeal by priests in Falcarragh, Gortahork, and Gaoth Dobhair. Nóra is overwhelmed by the response of this appeal, a grand total of €5,027 has been received.

She would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to the people from the three above named parishes for their generosity. She would also like to thank all the priests for their kindness and co operation.

She said she is bringing the total sum with her to be spent on the poor, sick and needy in this poor part of the world. She also visited schools in the locality who kindly gave her posters to be used for educational purposes in Kenya. She would also like to thank the schools for the posters.
