County Donegal is yet again set to get international TV exposure with a film crew from IRISH TV touring the county filming TV features for SKY TV.
Having featured the Rory Gallagher Festival extensively last week, the Donegal special on SKY TV will be broadcast on June 14th at 9pm on SKY TV channel 201. The one hour programme ‘Out & About in Ireland’ features all the advice, trends and tips from the North West Garden Show 2012 in Castlefinn as well as all the music and carnival atmosphere in Donegal Town at the Donegal Live festival.
Ernan McGettigan, organiser of the Donegal Live festival stated it was wonderful to be getting such positive TV exposure for the North West. “This is a great opportunity to showcase all that is good about Donegal to a worldwide audience. There is a hidden tourism gem around every corner in the county and there is so much to do and see in Donegal.”
The weekly IRISH TV programme ‘Out & About in Ireland’ has an audience reach of 26 million viewers across Europe and a growing worldwide online audience every week on www.irishtv.ie.
Donegal native and CEO of IRISH TV Mairéad Ní Mhaoilchiarain stated IRISHTV.ie has received over 5 million hits since last August. “We are still in development mode but the reaction from everyone has being so encouraging. We have people in America, Canada, Australia and all over Europe logging on every week to see our programmes,” she said.
“Every county in Ireland now has its very own online TV channel under the banner of IRISH TV. We are constantly looking for new content and thankfully we have an independent TV company now in every county supporting us. IRISH TV has developed an innovative, affordable and accessible TV platform for everyone to access,” stated Ní Mhaoilchiaráin.
‘Out & About in Ireland’ can be viewed on SKY TV channel 201 or on Freesat 403 Thursday, June 14th at 9.00p.m and will be repeated again the following Sunday and Monday night at 7.00p.m. Alternatively you can watch the entire show online at www.irishtv.ie/donegal or at www.donegal.tv
