The 21st annual cycle is scheduled to take place on Sunday 8th July 2012 and a large number of cyclists will participate again in this fun event whilst supporting Cancer Research.

The event is held in the memory of Michael Toner. To date, his friends Paddy Delap, Bobby Finn and their fellow fundraising committee have raised the overwhelming sum of over €500,000.

To participate, cyclists must each raise a minimum of €50 sponsorship and the organisers hope that each cyclist will be able to exceed this amount if possible! Participation is open to all levels of cyclists with the emphasis on fun and enjoying the event.

This cycle is now registered with Cycle Ireland. All participants must wear a helmet and have insurance cover. If insurance is required, cyclists are asked to indicate this on their registration form (available for €10). This will cover his/her for 12 months.

Participants are asked to ensure their bike is wrapped up for transportation and is brought to the lorry beside Charlie’s Café, Railway Road on Saturday, 7th July between 5.30pm and 7pm.

A bus will take cyclists to Sligo on Sunday 8th July, departing from the Community Centre in Letterkenny at 8am sharp. Those taking part are asked to confirm with Paddy Delap, in advance, if they require transport.

The race will commence at 10.30am, all cyclists departing The Pier Road, Enniscrone, Sligo

Backup crews will be in attendance i.e. refreshment pits, cycle repairs and Red Cross.

After the race, the Letterkenny Community Center will provide shower and changing facilities.

Refreshments will be served in Mc Ginley’s Bar, Main St. after the cycle - including a draw for prizes!
