It’s that time of year again and the search is on for Laghey’s hottest talent.
The Blast Factor Karaoke Competition with the Crazy Maisies is on this Saturday night, December 3, in O’Carolans Dew Drop Inn, Laghey.
With ten local contestants taking part, this is the second year of the talent show to run creating great excitement around the village.
It was a great success last year despite the bad weather conditions. No snow, so no excuse this year, come along and support your favourite act.
The contestants taking part are Amy McCrea, sponsored by O’Carolans Bar, Laghey; Karen Given, sponsored by Kee’s EuroSpar, Laghey; Daniel Montgomery, sponsored by Karen’s Hair Boutique, Donegal town; Olga Grisina sponsored by Laghey Waste Ltd, Laghey; Deborah O’Donnell, sponsored by Donegal Natural Foods, Donegal town; Rachel Wilson, sponsored by Green Valley Foods, Copany; Diarmaid McGee, sponsored by Sandhouse Hotel, Rossnowlagh; Sinead O’Donnell Carey, sponsored by The Bookies, Donegal town; Fergal McAllister, sponsored by Gleeson Drinks, Donegal town; Greg Gorman, sponsored by B.K. Promotions, Laghey.
Doors open at 8pm, First Act on stage at 8.30pm. Admission is free and it’s €1 per vote.
First Prize is €150.00 and to perform on stage at the festival, sponsored by O’Carolans. There will be four guest judges in attendance including local celebrities Bertie Johnston, Barbara Edwards, the All-Ireland karaoke champion Laura May Lenehan who will be doing a song or two on the night and Mark Gallagher winner of Blast Factor 2010 will also be performing.
Proceeds are in aid of the Laghey Blast Festival to be held Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6.
The Laghey Blast Festival is a community event and this will be the third year for such an event to be held in Laghey.
