Auditions for the border counties premier talent competition continue as the whistle-stop tour arrives in Donal Town on Friday, February 4 for the third heat of auditions. The 2011 competition got off to a great start on Friday evening last and the first three finalists have been selected. The organisers, Borderline Players, commented that the level of talent at the Omagh auditions far surpassed anything seen in the last run of the competition in 2009 and are hoping to find more local superstars in Donegal Town.
The Donegal Town heat takes place in the Abbey Hotel at 8pm. Entrants are advised to contact the Abbey reception team for entry forms or alternatively application packs are available by contacting Donal on (0044) 791 222 7349 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
In a last minute addition for those unable to make the Donegal town heat on February 4, an additional audition night will take place in Dicey Reilly’s in Ballyshannon on Friday, February 19.
The winning act at each audition will walk away with a cool €100 first prize and the chance to perform at the final of the competition to be held on Friday, March 11. The Border’s Got Talent is the only talent competition in the border counties that is open to all ages and all abilities. Our judging panel want to see you if you can sing or dance, whether as an individual or as part of a group, are a gifted comedian or, whatever your talent, come along and join in with the fun.
An important point to note is that all contestants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Don’t forget to bring along some fans on the night as the audience play a big part in deciding who will make it through to the next round of the competition.
