A highly-acclaimed Irish comedy is heading to the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20 as the Crokey Players present “It’s the Real McCoy” for what will be two nights of rip-roaring laughter.

The play is set in rural Ireland in the spring of1964, and is the work of radio broadcaster Tommy Marren, who has staged a number of shows at the Abbey.

The main character is Madge Molloy who has lived over 40 years wondering why her husband disappeared without trace. The play centres around the fact that her husband wishes to return and explain why he left. However, Madge has become bitter in general about men and what transpires on stage has to be seen to be believed.

With a domineering wife, a nervous husband, Ireland’s two nosiest neighbours, a confused curate, a gormless postman and a frustrated daughter, the play has all the ingredients needed to have audiences in tears of laughter all night long.

Tickets for this must-see show are now available from the Abbey Centre in Ballyshannon or by contacting 086 176 1244. The show starts at 8pm sharp on both nights and is suitable for all age groups.
