Sliabh Liag Hill Walkers outing

The first walk organised by the Sliabh Liag Hill Walkers of 2012 takes place this Sunday, January 29.

The route of the walk is from Commons School, Killybegs to Bavin. The walk starts at 12.00 noon with car pooling at Bavin quarry at 11.40. The walk, which is on track, is 14km long and will take approximately four hours. For further information contact Seamus on 087 211 8638.

Membership is now open for 2012. The fee for the year is €30 for individuals and €40 for families. Membership covers guided walks with fellow members. Non-members may take part in organised walks for a fee of €5 per walk.

Hill-walking is an absolutely fantastic to get to know all the hidden corners of this spectacularly beautiful part of the world, get plenty of fresh air and exercise and, of course, make new friends.

The officers of the Sliabh Liag Hill Walkers, elected at the recent AGM are: Chairperson Paddy McBrearty, Vice-Chairperson Mai McCann, Secretary Marion McGinley, Assistant Secretary Margaret Carr, Treasurers Bríd McGinley and Suzanne Byrne, PRO Maureen Carr and assistant PRO Seán Ó Beirne.
