North West Pride - first LGBT Pride event in Donegal

In a new milestone for the county, Donegal’s first ever Northwest LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) Pride activity will take place on Tuesday, August 2 at 9pm in The Swilly Inn, Letterkenny.

A slide-show of Northwest Prides of the past will be followed by a Traffic Light Night, with host Lucy Lashes and DJ Pixie Smith helping Donegal folk to boogie on down into the night and celebrate diversity. An exciting first for Donegal, it marks the continued growth and spread of LGBT Pride across the North-West Area.

Now in its seventh year, Northwest LGBT Pride is an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-friendly individuals living in or from the North-West and surrounding areas of Ireland. This year’s festival takes place over ten fun-filled and action-packed days, August 2-12, with activities taking place in three counties - Donegal, Leitrim and Slig

Northwest Pride Festival aims to offer events for all tastes and age-groups, including art exhibitions, cultural events, club nights, workshops, hill-walks, community street festivals, table quizes, gigs… and much, much more! And of course, there’s Northwest Pride’s legendary Pride March, kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, August 11 and bringing rainbows to the streets of Sligo.

Pride welcomes everyone to come along for the celebrations regardless of gender, orientation, religion, marital status, age, ability, race or ethnicity. Friendly, inclusive and easy on your hard-hit pocket, Northwest Pride has always been the People’s Pride!
