Swimmers training at Woodquarter Pier for tomorrow's Mulroy Bay Swim in aid of the RNLI.

The 3rd Mulroy Bay Swim takes place tomorrow, Saturday, August 4.

Entry numbers are well up on last year and a big crowd is expected to cheer on the swimmers.

As always, the event is a fundraiser for the RNLI and everyone involved hopes that it will be yet another success.

Swimmers registration starts at 3pm at the Cranford Community Centre with a safety briefing at 4pm.

All swimmers will be transported to the pier courtesy of Mc Geever buses and likewise taken back for warm showers afterwards.

It is anticipated that the first swimmers will dip their toes in the water at approximately 5pm with three waves of brave souls travelling across Mulroy Bay to finally face the challenge many have been training towards for weeks and months.

There is something for everyone that comes along to support the swimmers and the charity on the day, including music from John Bosco and face painting, dancing, cake sale and tea stand.

All spectators are advised to use the park and ride facility that is running from Cranford Community Centre from 3pm.

There is no entry fee for spectators however all donations for the RNLI are welcome.

There will be a presentation at the pier after the swim and a BBQ in Logue’s of Cranford from 8pm, followed by music later by Paul Ward.

Come join in on the fun!
