Make The Leap with the new Balor Brochure

After much booking, writing, designing and printing our new Balor brochure is finally out on the street. And rather fetching it is too. A nice burnt orange colour with the mighty Scullion on the front.

By conor Malone, Arts Correspondent

Scullion are playing with support from The Henry Girls on Saturday September 29th in what should be a great gig altogether. It’s the jewel in the crown of a musical programme that includes Relish (September 15th), Declan Sinnott (October 20th) and Damien Dempsey (November 17th).

There’s a great drama programme as well with the Irish premiere of Long Gone Lonesome Cowgirls (tonight), Letterkenny Music & Drama groups The 39 Steps (September 6th). David Mamet’s Oleanna (September 28th) and North West Opera’s Die Fledermaus (October 5th and 6th).

Now, one of the consequences of the current economic squeeze is that people are less inclined to take a punt on shows that they don’t know.

Shows that look interesting but you’re not sure whether or not they’re your cup of tea. In light of this we’re introducing a new initiative at The Balor called Make The Leap.

We’ve selected three shows that you mightn’t know too much about but we think you’ll really enjoy. If you follow our recommendation and go to these shows and don’t like them, we’ll happily refund you the price of your ticket, no quibbles, no questions asked. If you make the leap we’ll guarantee you a soft landing.

The three shows selected from the August/September/October brochure are Long Gone Lonesome Cowgirls (Thursday August 30th, Friday August 31st), Oleanna (Friday September 28th) and Fruitcake (Saturday Oct 13th).
