Hollywood sensation Liam Neeson is Ireland’s hottest male according to the women of Ireland. Hundreds of Irish women took part in the Ladbrokes Love Poll to mark Valentine’s Day with Neeson taking 22% of the vote. Colin Farrell is still getting pulses racing having finished a close second with 19% and star of the Voice of Ireland, Bressie also got a healthy 18% of the vote in third.

A worrying 25% of Irish women also revealed that they would trade in their partner or boyfriend for one night with their favourite celebrity male but the vast majority are happy with their lot.

Often lauded internationally for their romantic and charming nature, Irish men came out the wrong end of the result when it came to impressing Mná na hÉireann with a massive 65% suggesting that Irish men are not romantic!

Despite that, there was an air of optimism from Irish women with 89% suggesting that “the spark” can be kept alive in a long term relationship.

On hand to launch the results of the survey was infamous horse trainer lothario, Peter “Racy” Casey and his wife. Peter hit the headlines recently with his explicit on air comments on RTE Racing but only managed one vote in the Ladbrokes Love Poll seeking Ireland’s hottest man.

Casey presented his wife with a huge bouquet of flowers at the launch, commenting, “I need to build up the brownie points with only a month to go to Cheltenham!”. While he didn’t have any tips for Cheltenham he did offer some advice on maintaining a healthy love life, “It’s all anyone wants to talk to me about since I said that on telly. Stop talking about it and go and do it, is my advice!” said Casey.
