Glenties Harvest Fair Traffic restrictions announced

Traffic restrictions and arrangements for next week’s Glenties Harvest Fair have been announced by An garda Siochana.

A section of the Glen road between the Garda Station and the Community Centre, will be closed at various times between the 7th and 12th of September 2012 to facilitate various street entertainment events as per the Festival brochure.

The main street of Glenties will be closed to traffic for the duration of the Parade on the SUNDAY, 9th of September ’12. Approx. 3.30pm to 5pm. Alternative routes via Alter & Mullantyboyle.

WEDNESDAY 12th SEPT. ’12;

Traffic Control in Glenties for Harvest Fair Day -- 12th Sept. ’12.

8am to 9pm - Closure of Glenties Main Street at the Grotto, the Glen Road at the rear of the Garda Station and the Ardara road at the Chapel Car Park. No through traffic other than scheduled bus services and emergency vehicles.

Traffic will be diverted as follows;

Dungloe traffic to Letterkenny no Restriction

Dungloe Traffic to Donegal Town diverted at Maas via Ardara

Fair Traffic from Portnoo/Dungloe Traffic parking both sides of road from Ard Patrick back in the Dungloe direction.

Letterkenny/Ballybofey traffic to Dungloe no restriction.

Letterkenny/Ballybofey traffic to Donegal Town diverted via Maas, Portnoo & Ardara.

Fair Traffic from Letterkenny direction Traffic parking one sides of road from beyond the comprehensive school back in the Fintown direction.

Donegal Town Traffic to Dungloe of Letterkenny Direction diverted at Kilraine via Ardara & Maas.

Ardara/Killybegs Traffic to Dungloe of Letterkenny Direction diverted at Hillhead Ardara via Portnoo & Maas. Fair Traffic from Donegal/Killybegs/Ardara direction parking both sides of road from the Chapel Car Park in the Ardara direction.

Traffic from the Glen Road can travel 2-way via Alter road at the rear of the Garda station and traffic from this direction attending the fair can park on the Glen Road from Ard Connell back towards the grave yard.
