The latest production from All-Ireland winners Ballyshannon Drama Society, The Memory of Water, continues tonight and Saturday at The Abbey Centre.

Last year, Ballyshannon Drama Society made a triumphant return to the festival circuit with Steel Magnolias, winning legions of new fans, critical acclaim and a rake of prestigious awards.

This year’s play, which opened on Tuesday night to a great reception, is already looking extremely impressive as well. Be sure to catch it this week so you’ll know what all the fuss is about when festival audiences get to see it! Once this run finishes, the production will go on to compete in drama festivals in Newtownstewart, Enniskillen, Kiltyclogher, Tubbercurry, Strabane, Carrickmore and Cavan.

‘The Memory of Water’ won the Laurence Olivier Best Comedy Award in 2000. It is a timeless play, mixing buzzing comedy and high emotion.

Mike is a doctor who is having an affair with Mary. Frank, who runs a health food store, is Teresa’s husband.

Guaranteed entertainment, laughter and tears included.

The society is pleased to support Saimer Community Playgroup, Holy Family Primary School and the Alzheimers Society with the proceeds of the raffle. Curtain up at 8.30pm. Admission is €10 euro and booking is at the Abbey Centre 11am to 1pm weekdays or phone 086 374 3207.
