Donegal double at the IFTAs

Donegal film makers did the double at the 9th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards with wins for Garry Keane, Ballyshannon and Pierce Boyce, Rathmullan.
Keane, a native of Ballyshannon now living at Barnesmore, was a winner last year and repeated the feat with Gaeil Nua Eabhrac (The Irish New Yorkers), made by Garry and his wife Alison’s production company Real Films, winning an IFTA in the Best Director of Photography Television (Michael O’Donovan).
Last year Keane’s documentary “The Writing in the Sky” won an IFTA in the Best Director Television category.
Rathmullan television producer, Pierce Boyce also scooped a coveted IFTA award for the Best Reality Series with his wonderful Jockey Eile. The humorous Boyce was the first up on the stage to collect the award and joked saying that it was great making the whole thing and thanked TG4 for allowing them all to go around for three months making the film.
The winners of the 9th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards were announced at a Gala Awards Ceremony held at the Convention Centre Dublin attended by President Michael D Higgins on Saturday night
