Éamonn Andy McNeilis: Deeply regretted is the death of Éamonn Andy McNeilis, formerly of Middletown, Derrybeg, which occurred in London last week.
A son of the late Andy and Gracie McNeilis, he was aged 66 years. Éamonn spent most of his life living in London. This is the second bereavement suffered by the McNeilis family in recent months. At the end of August, Éamonn's sister, Miss Peggy McNe
ilis, a former nurse who lived in the family home in Middletown, passed away. His brother, Seán passed away a number of years ago. His funeral took place in London following mass. A Memorial Mass for the repose of his soul was celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg, on Wednesday morning of this week. He is survived by four sons; sister, Máire Uí Bhriain, (Middletown), and brother, Pat McNeilis, (Middletown); sister-in-law, Nellie McNeilis; family circle, and friends, to all of whom deep condolences are extended.
Dublin Launch: The well known Gaoth Dobhair singer, Maria McCool will have a Dublin launch of her new CD in Cassidy's Pub, 42 Lower Camden Street, on Saturday, 5 December at 8.30pm. The owner of this establishment is a Donegal man, James O'Donnell, a brother of Daniel and Margo. The sixteen track CD titled 'Doagh' was launched in Gaoth Dobhair in August. Maria who is a teacher in Co. Meath is a daughter of Seán and Bríd Mac Cumhaill, An Charraig, Derrybeg. Doagh follows from Maria's first CD, 'Ailleog' which continues to attract universal acclaim.
Disabled Drivers Association: The sum of €301.51 in aid of the Disabled Drivers Association was collected outside St. Colmcille Church, Cnoc Fola.
North West Cancer Group: Mary McGinley, on behalf of the North West Cancer Group, wish to express her deep gratitude to Cumann na gCurach in Gaoth Dobhair for their generous donation of €1,500 which they raised through sponsorship by rowing in August last from Kincasslagh to Magheragallon. This money will go towards family and patient fund. Well done to everyone involved.

Whist Drive: At the whist drive held in Scoil Mhuire, Derrybeg, on Monday 9th November, Mary Mulligan, Magheraclogher, with a score of 185 points won top score prize. First lady's prize with a score of 161 was won by Susan McCole, Dore, while second lady's prize with a score of 160 points went to Mary McGinley, Magheraroarty. First gent's prize with a score of 171 points was won by Sylvia Morgan, Cotteen, and second gent's prize with 166 points was won by Hughie Duffy, Annagry. The whist will be held again in Scoil Mhuire, Derrybeg on Monday night starting at 8.30pm.

Cumann na gCurach: Cumann na gCurach Ghaoth Dobhair weekly table quiz is held in Teach Sheáin Óig, Middletown every Thursday night. At last week's quiz the senior section was won by a team consisting of: Michael O'Donnell, Marie McGonagle, Dónal Curran and Hugh Beag Boyle. The novice section was won by a team of: Eibhlín Callaghan, Martha Nic Giolla Bhríghde, Séamus Ferry and Michael Rodgers.

Died in Glasgow: The death occurred in Glasgow last week of Charlie Duffy. The deceased who was aged 49 years, and is survived by his wife, Rosaleen Mhary Den Beag, who is originally from Dore, Bunbeg. He is survived by his wife, Rosaleen; three sons; a daughter; three sisters and a brother, and family circle, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended. His funeral took place in Glasgow.

Halloween Prize: The lucky winner of a two night holiday in a Sligo hotel which was the prize of a Halloween competition organised by Gallagher's Foodstore in Derrybeg was Annabell Lynch, Strand Road, Magheraclogher.
Biddy O'Donnell: The death occurred at Letterkenny General Hospital, on Monday, 2 November of Mrs. Biddy O'Donnell, Meenacuing. Aged 87 years, she was affectionately and better known in the locality as Biddy Mháire Chaitlín. A very kind and a friendly woman, she was married to Con O'Donnell, who was originally from Ardveen on the outskirts of Dungloe and he passed away fifteen years ago. Biddy spent her entire life living in Meenacuing, and she witnessed a major development there in the 50s with the setting up of the Turf Burning Station located a short distance from her home. She was a devoted mother and grand mother and she will be very sadly missed especially by her devoted grand children. Her funeral mass was celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg, on November 4th. The celebrant of the mass was An Dr. Oirmh. Pádraig Ó Baoighill, Seiplineach Phobal Scoil Ghaoth Dobhair, who also officiated at the graveside. She was pre- deceased by her husband, Con, and by her brothers, Dominick and John. She is survived by her daughter, Mary McFadden, Lower Brinaleck; son, Charlie O'Donnell, Fair Hill, Dungloe; seven grand children, Pól and Marie McFadden, Bríd, Mary, Sheila, Martin and Michael O'Donnell; one sister, Mary McGee, who lives in Glasgow; son-in-law, Owenie McFadden and daughter-in-law, Sheila O'Donnell; family circle; relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended. Her month's mind mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey on Sunday, 29th November at 10am.
Patrick Ferry: The death of Patrick Ferry, Meenacuing which occurred recently, caused widespread regret over a wide area. A diligent and hard worker, Patrick spent many years working in the former ESB Generating Station at Meenacuing.
The deceased liked working in the bog, and he ensured he had a plentiful supply of peat outside his home for plenty of heat during the long winter evenings. Patrick was known as a kind a quiet person, was an outstanding neighbour and was very popular with everyone who knew him. His funeral took place to Gortahork cemetery following his funeral mass which was celebrated in the Church of Christ the King, Gortahork. He is survived by his wife, Anna Ferry; brothers; sisters, nephews; nieces; relatives and friends, to all of whom sincere sympathy is extended. His month's mind mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg, this Friday evening at 7pm.
