Fashion Show: A Fashion Show in aid of our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin will be held in the Cúirt Hotel, Gaoth Dobhair on Wednesday, 4th November, starting at 7.30pm. Admission fee is 10 euro for adults and 5 euro for kids. Everyone welcome to come along to support this very worthy cause.

Sinn Féin Lotto: The winnings numbers for 21st October were: 09, 12, 16 and 18. There were four match three numbers. €25 each: Philip Mc Fadden, Carndonagh, Mick Quinn, Trentagh, Lisa Doherty, Killygordan, Marie O Gara, Glencolmcille. Next week's Jackpot is €4700.
Peace Commissioner: The Minister of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr. Dermot Ahern, TD, has recently appointed Miss Kathleen Coll, Strand Road, Bunbeg, to the office of Peace Commissioner. Kathleen is a daughter of Mrs. Grace and the late Michael Coll. She is honoured to have been appointed in this position as she follows in the footsteps of her late father, Michael who held the office of Peace Commissioner from the seventies up to the time of his death in September 2008.

Frances Greene: The Crolly district lost its most senior citizen with the death of Mrs. Frances (Fanny) Green. Fanny who would shortly celebrate her 100th birthday, passed away peacefully at Arás Ghaoth Dobhair in Derrybeg last week. Fanny was a kind and friendly individual and she was highly popular with both young and old alike. She was predeceased many years ago by her husband. She was waked in her Crolly home. Her remains were removed to Saint Patrick's Church, Meenaweal on Tuesday evening 20th October. Her funeral mass was celebrated there on Wednesday and afterwards she was laid to rest in the old cemetery in Annagry in a plot alongside her husband. She is survived by her son, Sean; a sister; family circle; relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
Parish Mission: The Parish Mission continues in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg and St. Patrick's Church, Meenaweal. In both churches a mass will be celebrated there at 7.00p.m. and the theme will be the Eucharist. On Friday 30th, at St. Mary's, Derrybeg, masses will be celebrated at 7.30am and 10.00am. The mission will come to a close with the 7.00pm Mass. The theme will be Consecration to Jesus through Mary. In St. Patrick's Meenaweal, there will be a 10.00am. Masss and it will close with the 7.00pm Mass.

Whist Drive: At the whist drive held in Scoil Mhuire, Derrybeg on Monday 19th October, Winnie McGee, Cotteen, with a score of 177 points won top score prize. First lady's prize, with a score of 172 points, was won by Sheila Boyle, Ranafast and second lady's prize, with a score of 170 points, was won by Nellie Carr, Gortahork. First gent's prize, with a score of 168 points, was won by Brian Harkin, Gortahork, while second gent's prize, with a score of 166 points, went to Matt Clancy, Stranacorkra. The whist will be held again in Scoil Mhuire, Derrybeg on Monday night.

Lotto: In the Scoil Bhríde, Meenacladdy lotto draw on October 23rd, the numbers drawn were: 4, 5, 8 and 10. The following matched three numbers; Nancy McGeady, and Eugene Duggan, Meenalough, Cnoc Fola. In the next draw the jackpot prize will be 1,300 euro.

Jimmy McGee: The death has taken place on October 13th, in Charlotte, North Carolina, of Jimmy McGee, formerly of Middle Dore and Brooklyn, United States. He is survived by his three children, Freddie, Nuala and Jim and by his sister, Mrs. Mary O'Donnell, Middle Dore. His wife, Kathy (nee Sweeney) predeceased him some years ago. His funeral has taken place in America. His month's mind mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church, Meenaweal on Sunday, November 15th at 10am. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
