It took extra-time to decide the issue and a penalty from Dermot Molloy towards the end of the first period put the defending champions in control. They join Four Masters, Kilcar and St. Michael's in the semi-final draw.

Cloughaneely got off to a good start with three points in opening ten minutes, two from Declan McGarvey and one from Darren McGeever.
Dermot Molloy got Naomh Conaill off the mark from a 40m free on nine minutes and followed up with a second from a 35m free after Leo McLoone was fouled.

In a very closely contested opening half Cloughaneely were giving as good as they were getting against the favourites and Sean McGarvey hit the first of two great long range sidesline kicks from 40m

Seamus Corcoran had a point for Naomh Conaill but a second sideline from McGarvey on 27 minutes left Cloughaneely 0-5 to 0-3 ahead.
However, Naomh Conaill hit back to level before the break with two frees from Dermot Molloy on 29 and 32 minutes to leave the sides all square at 0-5 each at the break.

The opening half had plenty of tough challenges with a number of yellow cards handed out.

The second half was equally well contested with Dermot Molloy put Naomh Conaill two ahead inside two minutes but a goal from Darren Ferry after good work by Keivn Mulhern and Declan McGarvey Cloughaneely back in front.

Molloy responded with two more to turn it around but two points from Martin Maguire and Kevin Mulhern with minutes left seemed to have secured the win but Leo McLoone, who had a major influence on the game, levelled a minute into added time to leave it 1-7 to 0-10 at the end of normal play.

In the first period of extra-time Naomh Conaill took a grip on the game to lead by 1-12 to 1-8. Darren McGeever had the first point but scores from Dermot Molloy and Seamus Corcoran put the Glenties men ahead and Dermot Molloy then converted a penalty after Rory Boyle was hauled down before the end of the first period of extra-time.

The second period was a replica of the first with McGeever getting the first point but Naomh Conaill added four from Jamie Gallagher, Rory Boyle and a late brace from man of the match Dermot Molloy
