The people of the northwest are hoping that the Cloughaneely band will march to victory after getting a place in the The All Ireland Show on Sunday night. Boyzone star Shane Lynch failed to make it to Ireland for the show on after falling victim to arctic weather conditions in Britain. He had to be replaced on the show by his advisor, Evelyn O'Rourke.
In his abscence his act was voted out and the Cloughaneely marching band went through the semi finals. Yesterday, the Cloughaneely bands website was inundated with messages from proud supporters from throughout Donegal.

One supporter wrote: “Yipee! Well done to all, I was so nervous, it was like waiting to get the results of an all Ireland Fleadh. Other messages read: “Well done, you were fantastic and you put Cloughaneely firmly on the map,” fair play lads, well deserved.”

The band made the journey through arctic weather conditions ahead of the Sunday night live performance.

The show, presented by Gráinne Seoige, promises to be Ireland’s biggest ever country-wide talent contest. Everyone from the county are asked to tune in this Sunday at 6.30pm and vote for the Cloughaneely band. The acts are competing for the grand prize of €50,000.
