Two Donegal finalists in national writing competition

Two Donegal students reached the final 15 in a national writing competition.

Sophie Savva from Letterkenny and Conor Chapman from Donegal Town reached the finals of the 2012 John West brainfood.ie Fantasy Writing Competition.

Commenting on Sophie’s story, ‘Life Inside the Fridge’, Dr. Frank Ryan, head of the judging panel, said: “Funny and clever! I’m never eating cheese again!” Sophie is in 6th class at Glenswilly National School, Letterkenny and is taught by Mairead Hennessy.

Of Conor’s story, ‘A Life Like a Waking Dream’, Frank said: “A delightful ghost story: this kiss will haunt your dreams.” Conor is in Transition Year at Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town and his teacher is Breda Logue.
