The Poor Farmers Assocation (PFA) in Donegal have once again come up trumps, supporting Hospice Home Care with their latest annual PFA Charity Auction at Teague’s Bar, Ardara.

Over the previous six years, the auctions have raised more than E143,000 euro for this very worthy cause. And it’s all been done with the greatest of craic, at a farm themed auction which sees Teague’s transformed into a barnyard for the occasion.

This year’s auction was held last Saturday night. Four horned Blackfaced ewes topped the lots on offer, with a staggering 79 other lots also coming under the hammer.

The auction included an astonishing array of goods an livestock, including a knitted farm family courtey of Francis Gallagher, Edergolee; a saddle and bridle from Clint Boyd, Loughros Point; donkey foals from Micheal Kennedy, Mullyvea; roosters, hens, ducks and drakes, ewes and lambs, fuel, furniture, paintings, three hours of power harrowing or ploughing, and even straw and spuds!

With the total raised to date now nearing the E200,000, the PFA can hold their heads up high at a job well done!
