No change at Donegal Waterbus AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Donegal Waterbus was held on Wednesday, January 18. There was a good attendance and no changes were made to the committtee.

Members heard that the new jetty, made possible through the support of a €200,000 grant from Donegal Local Development Company, should be in place in time for the tourist season. “We’re hoping it will be installed sometime in March,” Chairman Sean Quinn told the Donegal Democrat.

“The new jetty, which will have approximately the same dimensions as the current one, will enhance the local leisure and tourism amenity here in Donegal town and for the greater south west Donegal region.

“We’ve a new car park at the pier, a new Waterbus and now a new pontoon, which all adds to Donegal’s tourism appeal.”

Mr Quinn said the Waterbus had “a good season” this year. He added: “We’re looking forward to working closely with Jim White and Megan in bringing new German visitors to the town this year, which should be of benefit to everyone here, not just tourism providers.”
