Exciting new work from the Glencolmcille artists group, Meitheal Ealaíne, will be featured in an exhibition that opens tomorrow, Friday, September 28 at the Gallery, Main Street, Cashel, Glencolmcille.

The show continues to October 7 and is presented as part of the Donegal Bay and Bluestacks Festival.

Meitheal Ealaíne have exhibited annually together in Glencolmcille for the past five years, and their work goes from strength to strength.

Ana Stromberg will have new oil paintings and watercolours, on her themes of nature, and local landscapes and scenery, as well as some new portraits.

Rik Walton, who’s work photographing musicians is internationally known, has turned his lens towards land and seascapes with striking results.

Margaret Cunningham will show her wonderful new tapestry weavings and felt and embroidered work.

Michael Doherty, artist and architect, will show his latest pen and ink studies as well as new acrylic paintings.

Deborah Stockdale will be exhibiting a new range of art quilts which feature discharge dying and overpainting and embroidery.

This promises to be a rich and diverse exhibition, with a spectrum of artistic visions and techniques, from some of Glencolmcille’s well known artists.

The exhibition will open with a launch party at 8 pm on Friday. All are welcome to attend. The exhibition will be open every day from 1-6 pm until Sunday, October 7.
