Bundoran Community Childcare Gala Ball

Any of us that are lucky enough to be parents will agree that the most important thing in our lives is our children.

Most parents would say that they would do anything to protect them. So how would you react if a place they loved, where they laughed, played, learned and were protected, a place where they felt safe and secure, was threatened with closure due to lack of funds? Surely you would fight to make sure that this place of security was there for them and for all the kids in the community.

Unfortunately that is the prospect facing many families and their little ones if action is not taken to help fundraise to keep Bundoran Community Childcare open. Every week the Childcare Group struggles to stay on top of the high rent and other running costs associated with its purpose-built facility. As a local registered charity, Bundoran Community Childcare relies heavily on the grant aid that it receives and the fees paid by parents. However due to the number of job losses in the area, many of the kids in the facility are subvention paid, which means that money is always tight. The facility and staff have an obligation to make up the shortfall and raise approximately €20,000 per year. So once again they are calling on the local community to support their first “Glitter and Glamour” Gala Ball being held in memory of the late Josephine Kelly on Friday November 2 at 8pm in the Allingham Arms Hotel.

This Glitter and Glamour themed event includes a four-course meal, followed by live music from the ever popular Mucky Ducks, a disco, raffle, auction and Red Carpet “Best Dressed Awards”.

For everyone wishing to capture their glamour on the night, professional photographer Fergal McGrath will be on hand to take professional portraits.

Tickets are priced at just €30 per person and are available to purchase from Bundoran Childcare Centre (Bundoran Retail Park), Simpson’s Supermarket, Cara Pharmacy, American House and Allingham Arms Hotel.

So ladies, put on your best dress and those killer heels and, gents, get suited and booted (black tie not required) to join Bundoran Community Childcare for a night to remember!
