Bernie Kelly and Carol McGill toast to Carmel Whelans retirement party at The Orchard

Friends and family gathered at the Orchard recently to enjoy a retirement party that was held for Carmel Whelan who has spent three decades working in both the Letterkenny General Hospital and the Hospice. Carmel had spent 21 years working in catering in the Letterkenny General Hospital and had subsequently spent nine years working in the Hospice. She was very well respected and though of among her colleagues in the areas that she worked.

During her many years of unwaivering service, Carmel made very good friends in both the Letterkenny General Hospital and the Hospice. This was reflected by the huge number of them who came out to celebrate with her and her family at the Orchard recently. Carmel’s lovely daughter Elaine stood by her side as she was presented with a lovely cake on the occasion.

It is understood that Carmel will be very muched worked in the Hospice as she was a familiar face whom many people had come to know over the years.
